16. Description: MSC intends to award a contract for the ROH/DD of the USNS GRASP (T-ARS

51) to be performed at a Contractor’s facility within the location range of Alaska, Hawaii, or West Coast. This work package includes approximately 117 work items with a sample of Work Items to be accomplished list below:

1) Steel Renewal

2) Main Diesel Engine – Major Overhaul

3) Biomedical Refrigeration Installation

4) SS Diesel Engine – Major Overhaul (20,000 hours)

5) Work boat Davit Service

6) AC Chiller Servicing

7) Rudder & Stern Frame Examination (1 x 5 years)

8) Underwater Hull Cleaning and Painting (1 x 5 years)

9) Freeboard Preservation (5 yr)

10) Tailshaft Removal, shaft strut & stern bearing removal (1 x 5 years)

c. Delivery schedule: POP, commence 6 January 2022 to 07 March 2022 for 60 days.

17. The decision to solicit as a Total Small Business Set-Aside was based on Market Research and responses to the previous Solicitation N3220521R4194. MSC received interest from multiple small businesses under NAICS 336611, which has a size standard of 1,250 employees. The MSC Small Business representative concurs with decision to solicit as a Total Small Business Set- Aside.
