The opportunity is for remanufacturing Thermostat, Flow components (NSN: 6685-01-168-2426TP) used on B-52 aircraft, with a minimum/maximum requirement of 10 to 40 units. The contract will require complete disassembly, cleaning, inspection, maintenance, reassembly, testing, and restoration of thermostats to like-new condition, with a three-year basic period and one two-year option.
Qualification requirements are strict, mandating that interested vendors submit a Source Approval Request (SAR) package to the Source Development Office. The part requires engineering source approval to maintain quality, and only vendors with unique design capabilities and manufacturing knowledge will be considered. Technical data requests must be submitted via email with specific documentation, and offerors must specify their business size and ownership type. The solicitation is set for full and open competition after exclusion of sources, with an emphasis on small business participation, and will use electronic procedures for all communications and submissions.
