Text version
ACC-DTA (6501 E. 11 Mile Road, Warren, MI, 48397) intends to solicit and award a five year commercial, sole source, firm-fixed price contract with one base year and four one year options to Ohio State University (OSU) for an Industry-University Cooperative Research Center (IUCRC) Manufacturing and Materials Joining Innovation Center (Ma2JIC) membership. The anticipated award will be made to Ohio State University, CAGE: 442L5, under authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR 13.501(a), “Soliciting from a Single Source.” A Justification and Approval has been completed and will be posted at the time of award.
This membership is to develop scientifically based methodologies for assessing material weldability and printability (additive manufacturing methods) that span nanometer (nm) to millimeter (mm) length scales, close the gap between materials innovation and manufacturability, develop experimental and computational tools for materials joining and advanced manufacturing and develop a new generation of materials joining and additive manufacturing engineers and scientists. It also provides GVSC Ground Vehicle Materials Engineering (GVME) Division the ability to leverage the center’s research to further the Army’s mission to deliver technologies that will enable the next generation of combat vehicles.
This notice is not a request for competitive proposals/quotes; however, the government will consider all responses received within 15 days of publication. Submit notice responses electronically to drew.e.depalma.civ@army.mil.
