Pre-solicitation notice/synopsis for: FA8251-24-R-AISBAE
Estimated solicitation issue date: 3 August 2024
Sole Source: BAE Systems, Inc.
Description/Function: Provide engineering, maintenance/repair services for computer controlled Automatic Test System series of test stations and test station components under North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code 541330 which has a corresponding size standard of $45M. Historically, this has been accomplished by BAE Systems, Inc. the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). On 26 June 2024, a sources sought synopsis was posted on the Government Point of Entry (GPE) sam.gov. Responses received did not indicate capability to provide supplies and or services for Avionics Intermediate Shop Systems Support. The Government intends to award sole-source to BAE Systems, Inc. with an award type of firm-fixed price. Supplies or services required are available from only one responsible source and no other types of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Therefore, the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. In accordance with FAR Subpart 5.2 – Synopses of Proposed Contract Actions, agencies must make notices of proposed contract actions available. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Electronic procedures will be used for this solicitation. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be sent from this office. This acquisition involves technology that has a military or space application. Nothing in this notice contradicts other restrictions identified in the sources sought synopsis regarding eligible sources.
