TITLE: Brackish Groundwater National Desalination Research Facility: As-Needed Security Guard Services
SOLICITATION NUMBER: 140R4021Q0031
PURPOSE: The purpose of this requirement is to acquire security guard services on an as-needed basis for the Brackish Groundwater National Desalination Research Facility (BGNDRF).
Occasionally, BGNDRF clients request to work outside of normal business hours. In many of these cases, a security guard is requested to open and monitor the facility. The security guard is responsible for closing and securing the facility upon departure of the client.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The following shall be provided on an as-needed basis, unless otherwise specified, in accordance with the contract award:
• The Contractor shall provide one (1) unarmed security guard on request to provide site security for a designated period of time not to exceed 14 hours per shift and generally 2 to 8 hours per shift.
• The security guard will be responsible for opening, monitoring, and closing the facility while on duty.
This is not a comprehensive list of requirements. The solicitation will include a Statement of Work that will include all the required tasks.
PROJECT LOCATION: Brackish Groundwater National Desalination Research Facility, 500 LaVelle Road, Alamogordo, New Mexico 88310 PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: The contract is anticipated to be awarded as a 3-year contract with the following period of performance:
• Base Year: September 14th, 2021 to September 13th, 2022
• Option Year 1: September 14th, 2022 to September 13th, 2023
• Option Year 2: September 14th, 2023 to September 13th, 2024
NAICS AND SIZE STANDARD: The NAICS code for this project is 561612 with a small business size standard of $22.0 million.
COMPETITION: Solicitation 140R4021Q0031 is anticipated to be set-aside for small businesses.
SOLICITATION RELEASE DATE: All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. A free, electronic copy of the solicitation will be available on APPROXIMATELY May 24 at https://beta.sam.gov/. “Fedbizopps” is now a part of this website.

Responses will not be considered as proposals, bids, or quotes. No award will be made as a result of this Notice. The Government will NOT be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this Notice. This Notice is strictly for compliance with FAR Subpart 5.2. As a result of this Notice, the Government may issue a competitive solicitation;
however, should such requirements materialize, no basis for claims against the Government shall arise as a result of a response to the Notice (e.g. use of such information as either part of its evaluation process or in developing specifications for any subsequent requirement).
