About this file

This is a Supplier Questions and Answers document issued by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) in response to bidder inquiries regarding ITB-48400-RWPROPMGMT000668, a demolition and removal project. The solicitation seeks a pre-qualified firm to provide demolition and removal of improvements, structures, or other encumbrances in right-of-way or easement areas. The primary scope involves concrete removal limited to the slab under Structure 1, including the slab beneath the open storage area, a small exterior slab adjacent to the entry, and paving on the south side of the structure. All concrete foundations, slabs, and walks must be removed from the site and disposed of properly, with footings included in the demolition requirements. The drive and parking areas will not be removed as this is a partial demolition project. Bidders should reference the Pre-Demolition Report for additional technical specifications and requirements.

The Q&A document was issued on May 18, 2026, by Issuing Officer Stacey Allen (Sallen@dot.ga.gov, 404-558-3002). GDOT will select the lowest, responsive, and responsible bidder based on analysis of bid prices received. Only firms currently holding prequalification status for Right of Way Property Management Services are eligible to submit bids; any bids from non-prequalified firms will not be considered for award. A communication restriction is in effect from the advertisement date until selection is announced, prohibiting respondents from communicating with GDOT staff about the solicitation except for formal question submissions. The bid bond requirement has been removed, and performance and payment bond requirements have been updated as noted in the original solicitation documents.

1. 1.

Can you please confirm whether the concrete removal pertains only to the concrete walk on the south side of the structure and the slab beneath the covered storage area only, or if all concrete/asphalt on-site is to be removed? If all concrete/asphalt is to be removed, is there an estimated square footage available? Additionally, are the slab/footers underneath the structure to be removed as well?

The concrete/paving removal is limited to the slab under Structure 1 which includes the slab under the open storage area as well as the small exterior slab adjacent to the entry and the paving on the south side of the structure.

This is a partial take and the drive/parking area will not be removed.

Please reference the Pre-Demolition Report Demolition Requirements:

Per Requirement 1: “All improvements must be completely demolished and removed from their present site” which requires all components (which would include the footings) of the structure will be removed from the site.

Per Requirement 7: “All concrete foundations, slabs, and walks shall be removed from the site and disposed of properly. Do not push demolition debris into the soil.”
