Questions/Answers:

· Can a contractor who did not attend this site visit (January 9th) submit and offer and be eligible for consideration?

· Yes. The pre-proposal conference followed by the site-visit helps the contractors better understand the solicitation package, and gives them opportunity to physically see the areas to be maintained. Those who did not attend are not excluded from submitting offers, and will be considered.

· The contractor has to provide all the tools and equipment mentioned in the RFP.

· Who is responsible for providing ladders used in landscaping work (ie: such as high trimming)?

· The Contractor shall provide ladders for use in Embassy or US Government owned properties.

· Does the contractor have decision authority to cut any dead or “sick” tree?

· No, the contractor has to notify the COR in writing and obtain permission to proceed with cutting any tree.

· Can the automatic irrigation network can be used to fertilize the lawn through proportioning pumps and sprinklers?

· There is no proportioning system installed with the automatic irrigation which can be used for fertilization, but we can dissolve some types of fertilizer in the main water tank.

· Is the task of ‘’Elagage’’ (in French) mentioned as a standard work?

· ‘’Elagage’’ is the French word for “pruning” and is considered standard gardening work.

· You asked to clean up the open area at the Rec.Center twice a year, can we burn up the debris there or should we remove it outside?

· It is forbidden to burn any debris in the Embassy compound without special permission. Therefore, any trash or debris should be removed from the compound using a truck or tractor.

· Is there any area dedicated to make the compost heap?

· The Embassy will designate a specific location for this purpose.

· Is cleaning up the leaves at path ways included in daily works?

· Yes, cleaning up the path ways at NEC, CME and DCR is part of the daily tasks the contractor is expected to perform.

· Could you provide a percentage or a proportion of yards per size for the houses? (Note: Reference is made to the make ready of “the vacant houses between occupants”.)

· Of the 45 visits the contractor may perform in a given year, 50% of the yards are small, 47 percent are medium and three percent are large.

· Is the green house at the CMR included in standard tasks?

· Yes, the green house at the CMR is included in the standard tasks.

· Two contractors made remarks on the existing condition of the grass/grounds being in fair to poor condition in some areas (Near Bldg. D and near the storm drain areas) inquiring whether the contractor should write a report noting the existing conditions.

· The contractor should base the proposal on the existing condition of the grounds according to his/her particular observations during the site visit.

· What does H.4.(d) (The Contractor shall obtain adequate insurance for damage to, or theft of, materials and equipment in insurance coverage for loose transit to the site or in storage on or off the site) mean?

· Does not apply to this RFP. There are no Government furnished materials.

· Are materials and equipments purchased by the Contractor subject to VAT exemptions?
