Jan 2015 Step by Step Registration Instructions For Federal Government Contracts
Step 1: You must establish a Data Universal Numbering System or D-U-N-S® Number. It is a unique nine digit identification number, for each physical location of your business. D-U-N-S Number assignment is FREE for all businesses required to register with the US Federal government for contracts or grants. Copy the following website into your internet browser to request your D-U-N-S Number via the Web: www.dnb.com
Step 2: Once your DUNS is established (usually 1 business day), you must register in the System for Award Management (SAM) system. Once you receive confirmation of your SAM account, you will be assigned a Cage Code number. This number is unique for your company and is required for registration in the Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) system. Copy the following website into your internet browser: http://www.sam.gov/
Step 3: Register at Online Representations and Certifications Application also on the SAM website: https://www.sam.gov/
Step 4: Register at Federal Business Opportunities at www.fbo.gov and browse all available requirements.
Your company is now ready to do business with the Federal Government!
Only annual verification and updating of your information is required to remain active
Step 4: When you are awarded your first contract, you will need to establish a vendor group with your CAGE code by calling the Customer Support Center-phone number (toll free 1-866-618-5988) or send an email to DISA Ogden at cscassig@ogden.disa.mil
Step 5: After you receive a contract award, you must register into the Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) invoicing system. You will need the cage code number established in Step 2 to complete your account registration. Copy the following website into your internet browser: https://wawf.eb.mil/
