STATEMENT OF WORK FORMAT
Leica Geosystems BLK360 laser scanners and Cyclone software November 11, 2021
PR: _____________________
Note: Only use the sections that are applicable to your service procurement.
Background
Leica Geosystems is well known for the manufacture of state of the art surveying and reality capture (i.e., laser scanner) instrumentation. This acquisition is to purchase two Leica Geosystems BLK360 laser scanners and related proprietary processing software.
The Leica BLK360 instruments have the ideal set of features needed for quick and reliable 3D mapping of field sites of interest to NASA Goddard planetary geologists.
Centimeter-resolution 3D mapping of field outcrops is essential for the geopositioning of other field observations, adding context to field sites when away from the field, and for mapping relevant geologic units in the field. Without this capability, the goals of several funded and future projects would be negatively impacted. The estimated cost of the procurement is $47,423.60 and the estimated delivery is 1-4 weeks from the date of order.
Scope
The vendor shall deliver an 2 Leica BLK360 scanners, related tripods and instrument mounts, and 1 Leice Register 360 software license for use by scientists at NASA Goddard during field expeditions and related studies.
The instruments will provide real time infrared, visible, and thermal data of the 3D environments of interest at NASA Goddard Field Sites.
The two instruments will enable quick data acquisition through simultaneous data capture, reducing labor time needed in the field.
Requirements
The instruments shall collect complete 360 degree laser scans of sites of interest between 1 to 60 m from the scanners within 5 minutes.
The instruments shall collect data simultaneously in the field and be able to spatially co-register point cloud data in near real time (i.e., in the field, during data acquisition)
The software shall import scanner data, externally-collected point cloud data, and externally-collected geopositioning data (e.g., GNSS) to enable the georeferencing of point cloud data to the correct position on the Earth
Deliverables or Delivery Schedule The delivery of two Leica BLK360 instruments and software licenses shall occur 1-4 weeks after order placement.
