STATEMENT OF WORK
1. Objective/Requirements We require the purchase of a new camera to replace a previous camera that failed, at Winer Observatory. The new camera will enable fully automated transit follow-up observations of TESS exoplanet candidates.
2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs
We will purchase a new camera that will be installed at a robotic and automated half-meter telescope at Winer Observatory. The camera will be a replacement for a previous camera that had its shutter fail, rendering the facility no longer usable. The data resulting from the new camera is expected to lead to the confirmation of the orbital period of dozens of long-period TESS planets, thanks to the robotic, automated nature of the facility and the ability to collect and produce hundreds of observations of TESS targets per year. The total cost quote for the specific camera required for this project (ProLine PL23042) was obtained from a vendor at Finger Lakes Instrumentation, a Division of IDEX Health & Science LLC.
The camera specs are as follows:
Air cooled ProLine PL23042 with grade 1 e2v CCD230-42 1 (CCD230-42-1-143), 65mm shutter, 2.55" dovetail, F116 window, power supply, USB cable, software, SDK.
3. Place of Performance Winer Observatory near Tucson, AZ.
4. Period of Performance February 2022-2023.
