STATEMENT OF WORK

FOR

Aircrew Smart Watches

Prepared by

482d Attack Squadron

23 July 2024

Section 1. Scope/Description of Work. Aircrew assigned to the 482 ATKS work demanding schedules to provide 24/7 operations in support of multiple combatant commanders across the globe. This arduous task requires aircrew to modify sleep schedules routinely to meet mission requirements, creating increased fatigue and stress which impact safety of flight. Currently the

482 ATKS utilizes estimated hours of sleep and generalizations to quantify fatigue and personal factors when determining Operational Risk Management criteria for daily flying operations as directed by AFI 90-802 ACC Supplement, Paragraph 2.10.2.2.1. Operations take place in a Top-

Secret facility which prohibits many devices and limits tracking of health and wellness data. AFI

90-802 Para 2.9 also charges Commanders to provide meaningful data to improve risk management and mitigation. The Suunto 9 Peak Pro closes the knowledge gap and meets mission requirements by providing sleep tracking data and trends, stress level tracking, and overall wellness data to ensure aircrew are rested and informed of their physical condition to fulfill their flying duties in a safe and risk mitigated environment. This specific model is approved by the National Security Agency to be worn in secure facilities where MQ-9 Aircrew conduct flying operations and will be registered with the facility security office before entry. The

All-Black model also conforms to DAFI 36-2903, Para 7.3.1.3 requirements for wear in uniform.
