About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a high-powered stereomicroscope required by the Beneficial Insects Introduction Research Unit in Newark, DE. The objectives of this project are to investigate the biology, behavior, and ecology of biological control agents of the spotted lanternfly, an invasive agricultural and forest pest, in order to improve its management and potentially release beneficial biological control agents. The SOW specifies that the microscope must have 160x magnification, a high field of view at lower magnification, and the capability to mount a camera and take z-stacked imagery. The contractor must deliver and set up the microscope at the USDA laboratory within 60 days of award.
The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation (RFQ) for the high-powered stereomicroscope, with a NAICS code of 334516 - Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing. This is a 100% small business set-aside, and award will be made on the basis of the lowest priced technically acceptable quote. Offerors must submit documentation demonstrating technical capability, a firm fixed price quote, their Unique Entity ID, and completed certifications.
