Statement of Work Statement (SWS)
Project: Laser Diffraction System for Spray Particle Measurement
GENERAL INFORMATION
1.0 Background and Purpose: A major focus of our Project’s research program is the development and evaluation of spray technologies such as atomization nozzles and tank mix modifiers. Critical to these efforts is the measurement of the spray particle size that results from use of these technologies. We have more than 2 decades of atomization data that were developed using laser diffraction measurement systems, with our new remodeled atomization testing facilities structure to enhance the effective use of laser diffraction systems while ensuring the highest data quality. These data are critical to our Stakeholders with day to day operational decisions being based on the models and databases developed from our efforts. This procurement effort’s objective is to replacement of the group’s current system that is more than 15 years old and requiring significant repair that cannot be justified when compared to the cost of a new system.

CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks:
· Laser diffraction system with control and data logging equipment and software. Must meet the minimum following standard performance requirements:
· Measurement range of 0.1 – 3500 micrometers across a minimum of 31 channels. Full range can be met through multiple modules/lens that subdivide into multiple ranges. Provided for automatic selection and alignment of individual ranges/modules.
· System control software that allows for user defined trigger conditions, sampling intervals, user parameter logged to replicate data captures, background referencing captures and database storage, access, viewing and exporting of full data captures.
· System must be mountable on 95 mm optical-mechanical rail and have system provided alignment tool and capability.
· System calibration documents shall be provided for each measurement module/range conforming to industry standards and materials.
· Database management system should allow for long-term maintenance and control of existing data sources.
· Training shall be provided to cover equipment unboxing, setup, alignment and overall use and care.
4.0 Deliverable / Schedule: {All written deliverables shall be phrased in layperson language.}
· System shall be delivered within no more than 5 months of procurement award.
