Statement of Work
APL-61
Title Number: Potable Hot Water Heater System (PHWHS)
1.0. INTRODUCTION.
1.1. Background and Objective. This Statement of Work (SOW) defines the requirements for the supply and delivery of the parts listed in 2.1 be delivered to MITS Warehouse, 1728 South Military Highway, Chesapeake, VA 23320.
2.0. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
2.1. The Contractor shall supply and deliver the material listed in 2.1.1-2.1.4 complying with the following specifications:

The PHWHS will comprise of the following: Master Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) to provide control over the PHWHS. This system will proportion boiler water for both, domestic and HVAC, heating loads. Hot water heaters quantity (QTY) of four (4) are to be all welded steel construction, cement lined to a minimum of 5/8” thickness after fabrication and test. The heaters to be designed for 150 PSI working pressure, 225 PSI test, and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (A.S.M.E.) construction stamped Section VIII, DIVI. The heater must be capable of recovering 1,050 GPH of 40°F-140°F water when supplied with 87.5 GPM of 180°F-160°F boiler water rated for 900,000 BTU. The heaters must be vertical shape, no more than 74” outside diameter, 90” tall with controllers, temperature switch, pump switch, and water recirculating piping system.
The electric hot water generator QTY of one (1) is to be all welded stainless steel, designed for 150 PSI working pressure, 225 PSI test pressure, A.S.M.E. construction stamped Section IV.
There should be three (3) 450 kW elements (1350 kW total) with twelve (12) equal 37.5 kW circuits each (36 circuits total), 1,774 Amps. The unit shall be designed to provide no more than 1200 full load Amps during operation. Unit will not function unless vessels are full and providing flow to the flow switch. Flow switch actuation/de-actuation rate in 6” pipe to be 40 GPM activate, 30 GPM deactivate. The unit must have a vendor designed PLC system to modulate power 0- 100%. The circulation heater must be no more than 80” long, 48” wide and 80” high, 1,350 kW, 440 VAC, 3 PH, 60 Hz.
The 3-way proportion valve must be 6”, flanged, cast iron body, 125 lb. ANSI flange, 316 CRES stem, and packing to be spring loaded TFE/EPDM, 24 V.
The PHWHS must be built in accordance with Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS) material.
2.2. Required Date of Delivery: 01/24/2024.
3.0. DELIVERY / ACCEPTANCE
