STATEMENT OF WORK

ELECTRICAL HYDROPONIC CONTAINERS

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), US Horticultural Research Laboratory (USHRL) needs a single Contractor who can provide supplies, services, supervision, transportation, labor, work plan, schedule, and assure effective performance to connect power to (2) hydroponic containers side by side located at Picos Farm, 10,000 Picos Road, Ft Pierce, FL 34945. Each hydroponic container measured 40ft long x 8ft wide x 9ft-6 inches high.

1. SCOPE OF WORK

The general statement of work shall serve as general information only and shall not limit the Contractor’s responsibility or obligations to conform to all local, state, and federal labor laws necessary to furnish and install (2) complete hydroponic containers including but not limited to the following:

A. Electrical:

Assess electrical load requirements. Power source coming from the mechanic’s shop electrical room. Per manufacturer recommendation, each hydroponic container required a 125Amp service panel with 220/120VAC 4 wire service. All electrical installation must be in accordance with the current version of the National Electric Code (NEC).

B1. Install cables utilizing the shortest route possible with no splices preferred. Estimated cable run from the electrical switch gear room to the propose location including turns is approximately 500 ft.

B2. All below grade cables must be properly protected and warning tape installed above the cable run. Bottom of the trench must be compacted-graded smooth, and no sharp-edged materials are encountered.

B3. Provide polyethylene plastic warning tape in the backfill above all underground cables and conduits. The tape shall be minimum of 3 inches wide to identify buried utility lines.

B4. A self-supporting weatherproof disconnect switch must be provided to each container.

B5. Containers must be properly grounded. Grounding cables must be exothermically welded into copper solid grounding rod 3/4 inches x 10 ft in length. Resistance not to exceed 25 ohms.
