About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details the requirements for a Medication Pouch Packaging System for Cass Lake Indian Health Service (CL IHS), to be implemented when inpatient services are re-established in April 2025. The system will expand on the current ScriptPro SP200 robotic medication filling system, with key requirements including serialization of unit doses, centralized medication preparation, packaging speed of up to 54 pouches/minute, 99.8% packaging accuracy, and compatibility with IHS's Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS).
The proposed system must feature easy-open pouches with UV and humidity protection, clear dosing instructions, an Auxiliary Tray Management Station with RFID technology, and the ability to fill pouches from 100 or more medication packaging cassettes. The primary goals are to enhance patient safety and optimize medication administration efficiency in the inpatient ward, with the system designed to integrate seamlessly with existing pharmacy workflows and IT infrastructure.

Statement of Work
Medication Pouch Packaging System
A. Introduction
When Cass Lake Indian Health Service (CL IHS) re-established inpatient services in April 2025, a need was identified to provide unit dose medications to the inpatient ward. Unit dose medications within the inpatient ward serve several key purposes, primarily aimed at enhancing patient safety and optimizing efficiency in the mediation administration process.
B. Background
The current robotic medication filling system used within CL IHS Pharmacy is a ScriptPro
SP200 robot with a server, active interface and IT support in place; it integrates with IHS electronic health record and RMPS (Resource and Patient Management System). The new medication packaging system will expand on the current robotic system already established within the pharmacy department workflows and allow for unit dose (pouch packaging) medications to be filled for the inpatient ward and across the facility as clinically warranted.
C. Requirements:
1. Serialization of unit doses allows for precise drug identification and tracking throughout the medication handling process
2.Centralized medication preparation
3. Fast, accurate packaging speed of up to 54 pouches/minute
4. At least 99.8% packaging accuracy
5. Easy open pouches
6. Pouch material provides UV and humidity Protection
7. Easy-to-read dosing instructions on each Pouch
8. Auxiliary Tray Management Station with RFID technology
9. Maintenance and software support
10. Pouches required to be scannable to the IHS’s Electronic Health Record (EHR)
11. The packaging system needs to interface with IHS’s RPMS system
12. Ability to fill pouches from 100 or more medication packaging cassettes
