About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of three MEGA Door brand vertical lift hangar doors located at the 187th Fighter Wing in Montgomery, Alabama (two doors at building 1203 and one door at building 1201). The primary issue to be addressed is the generation of metal shavings during door operation, which indicates potential mechanical failure and poses a safety risk. The contractor must restore all three doors to full, safe, and correct operational status while eliminating metal shaving production.
The scope of services comprises three primary components: (1) comprehensive inspection and diagnostics to identify the source of metal shavings and provide a detailed findings report with a corrective action plan; (2) corrective maintenance and repair based on approved diagnostics, including removal of foreign objects, replacement of worn or damaged components, realignment, lubrication per manufacturer specifications, and operational testing; and (3) full preventative maintenance servicing per ASSA ABLOY manufacturer recommendations. The contractor shall supply all necessary labor, tools, equipment, and replacement parts, with anticipated supplies including bearings, rollers, wheels, lift straps, cables, fasteners, seals, weatherstripping, structural components, industrial-grade lubricants, cleaning agents, and touch-up coatings. All replacement parts must be Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts from MEGA Door (ASSA ABLOY) or equivalent. The SOW includes security requirements mandating contractor compliance with installation access policies, background check procedures, personal identity verification requirements per DoD and HAF policy, and Force Protection Condition (FPCON) adjustments as directed by the Government.
