About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details requirements for replacing the sponson on a 15-foot Polaris RHIB boat for NOAA's Marine Operations Center - Atlantic facility in Norfolk, VA. The work includes supplying and installing a new sponson tube made of 1100 weight Hypalon material, with specific lettering requirements (NOAA MOC-A and 1504), along with necessary adhesives, repair kit, and foot pump.
The period of performance is six weeks from contract award, with flexibility of +/- 2 weeks by mutual agreement. The contractor must transport the boat to their facility, remove the old sponson and adhesive, prepare surfaces, install the new sponson, and test for leaks before returning to NOAA. NOAA will handle removal and reinstallation of the motor, running gear, steering controls, fuel tank and console. The work requires manufacturer warranty on the tube itself and installer warranty on the hull-to-tube join. Technical points of contact are LT Matthew Chonka (Deputy Chief of Operations) and Thurmond Oliver (Facilities Manager). Any changes must be approved by the Contracting Officer.
