PAYETTE NATIONAL FOREST, KRASSEL RANGER DISTRICT

WINTER PASTURE CONTRACT

STATEMENT OF WORK

Scope of Contract

It is the purpose of this contract to secure winter boarding services for Krassel Ranger District on the Payette National Forest that will consist of approximately 20 head of horses and mules.

Contract Time

The base contract period is from October 1st through September 30th annually. This base period may vary annually due to unforeseen conditions, such as weather and road access. In years past typical drop off dates are between October 15th-31st, and typical pick up dates are May 15th to June 15th. The Government, at its option, may renew this contract for not to exceed four, six-month periods at the same terms and conditions. Option contract periods will be October 1st through September 30th for Option Year 1; October 1st through September 30th for Option Year

2. The Government shall notify the Contractor of intent to renew not less than 60 calendar days prior to the expiration of the current contract period.

Contractor Contract Requirements

Provide winter pasture for approximately 20 head of Forest Service pack and saddle stock.

Provide for adequate feed, water, salt and footing surfaces. Provide adequate space without hazards that could cause injury or stress.

Maintenance of fences is necessary to assure animals will not stray from designated area.

Daily monitoring and the notification of the Krassel Ranger District if any animal may need further care.

Payment made on a monthly basis for the actual number of animals pastured during the month.

Be within 100 miles of McCall.

This is for one (BASE) year with up to 4 option years that are subject to price change due to the hay market.
