STATEMENT OF WORK
For
Chill Water Pipe Covering/Insulation Services
PR # 2123403Y61A2397005
140’ CGC NEAH BAY

Location: 1055 East 9th Street, Cleveland, OH 44114 The Coast Guard requires contractor services for marine pipe cover / insulator services to occur in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. The services required shall be performed on-board 140’ Neah Bay. The contractor services shall insulate the Condensate Drain, Chilled, & Hot water piping system using the Coast Guard drawing as references.
The piping to be insulated will vary in size from 1/2” to 4”. The type of insulation to be installed shall be Armaflex, rubber or equal to. The type of jacket to be installed is brattice cloth and sealfas over the Armaflex insulation. The thickness of the insulation is ¾” (MIL-P-15280). The contractor will be required to insulate approximately 1500 linear feet of piping including various irregular shaped items such as valves, fittings and flanges. In addition, the contractor shall provide all materials, personal and equipment needed to perform all work as required. Insulation should be snug to the piping with no gaps. The insulation services will be required in various locations on-board the ship.
The insulation of the Chill Water, Hot Water, & Condensate Drain Piping system is required upon completion of the cutters availability. The CG YARD prefers the contractor shall perform these tasks on second shift, starting anytime after 1600. Contractor shall check in with the Ship’s Superintendent, Pipe Shop Foreman, or Leader at the beginning of each workday. The Coast Guard Yard will provide system drawings for insulating guidance.
Contractor must have experience in installing Armaflex pipe insulation and brattice cloth with Sealfas. Workers must be trained and have experience in properly installing pipe insulation. No ship check is required for the bidding process.
