Statement of Work For High Security Shredder Title: High Security Paper Shredder Document Date: 19 April 2024

1. Scope: Purchase and delivery of twenty-five (25) High Security Paper Shredders.

1.1 Background: AFRL/RXOS requires a High Security Paper Shredder, NSA/CSS 02-01 approved and supports the top-secret shredding needs of military and government agencies. Over 30 shredders were located throughout the 65X complex that were either obsolete or did not meet the required standards (paper shred 1mm x 5mm or smaller for the destruction of Classified Information and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)).

1.2 Impact: AFRL/RX removed over 30 non-compliant shredders to reduce the risk of inadvertent unauthorized destruction of any material, based on them not being identified on NSA Evaluated Products List (EPL). If we don’t purchase new paper shredders for the organization, it will cause an unnecessary need to store unneeded classified and CUI materials in offices, safes and other designated areas that will need to be taken to a separate destruction facility that requires manpower to transport the materials at a later date; required coordination with the facility owner to schedule its usage can also slow down the rate material can be destroyed (Availability is sometimes limited). This is a facility utilized by many organizations on a military base with a population over 50,000 personnel. The purchase of new High Security Paper Shredders will ensure that AFRL/RX members across the organization (over 900 personnel) has the capability to properly destroy Classified and CUI paper information throughout the 65X complex (5 total buildings) preventing unnecessary storage and scheduling issues at alternate destruction facilities. AFRL/RX currently utilizes a few NSA approved, High Security Paper Shredders within the 65X complex. These shredders have been proven to be highly effective and reliable, leading to the decision to purchase more shredders for our usage. Failure to purchase High Security Paper Shredders will result in non-compliance with required DoD standards for the proper destruction of classified and CUI information.
