NASA shall be responsible for the following contributions to the joint activity:
1. NASA (GSFC) will provide access to raw spectra and numerical outputs from all laboratory experimental analyses of ocean worlds analog seawaters. This includes both previously collected data and planned analyses during the collaborative effort.
2. NASA (GSFC) will provide expertise in Ocean Worlds geochemistry, mass spectrometry, and analytical needs.
3. NASA (GSFC) will provide guidance in development of new data analysis tools and/or autonomous analytical capabilities, and in enhancement of current analytical capabilities.
The recipient shall be responsible for the performance of the following agreed objectives:
1. The primary objective of this collaboration is that The University of Tulsa (TU) will use existing and future mass spectrometry data provided by NASA to improve existing analytical tools and/or develop new data analysis tools for ocean worlds mass spectrometry. These may include, but are not limited to: tools for predictive composition/clustering, limit of detection identification, unique feature identification.
2. TU will be primarily responsible for the mentorship of a graduate student, training in Geosciences and Computer Sciences, who will be dedicated to this project.
3. TU will be responsible for providing the computational resources necessary to achieve objective 1 (detailed in Facilities in the proposal document).
4. TU will provide quarterly updates on data analysis and machine learning efforts in the form of (e.g., powerpoint presentations, short written reports).
