Statement of Work Code 139 Certification and Training Test Props
Section A: Scope
1. Objective:
Code 138.3 Test Examiners and code 139 training section need of updated training and certification test props to certify Code 139 nuclear non-destructive test inspectors.
2. Background/Introduction
Currently Code 138.3 utilizes bevel canopy type weld test props in the certification process of Code 139 nuclear inspectors. Bevel type canopies are rarely seen in production work. Code 139 typically encounters c-canopy type welds. Code 138.3 is trying to realign inspector certification testing with the inspectors’ actual deck plate work experiences. This requires changing out of bevel type weld canopies to c-canopy type welds.
