About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the procurement and installation of mixing valves and thermometers at Gallup Indian Medical Center (GIMC) in Gallup, New Mexico. The project addresses temperature control issues in Building 2000 by replacing existing equipment to ensure consistent hot and cold water distribution in critical hospital areas while supporting energy efficiency and reducing operational disruptions.

The procurement requires mixing valves with specific technical specifications including NPT X NPT connections (¾" inlet, 1" outlet), cast bronze construction, 7-1/4" height, 11-3/8" width, flow coefficient of 9.49, maximum operating pressure of 125 psi, inlet temperature range of 40°F to 80°F, outlet temperature range of 90°F to 160°F, and compliance with ASSE1017 and CSA B125 standards. Thermometers must meet specifications including +/-1% accuracy, 2" dial diameter, aluminum housing, glass lens, 5-year manufacturer warranty, temperature range of 30°F to 250°F (0°C to 120°C), brass stem with ½" NPT male thread connection, and lead-free compliance for potable water systems. GIMC Facility Management will handle installation including piping, connections, and system integration, along with testing for leaks and air bleeding per manufacturer requirements. Deliverables include a Procurement Plan due within 2 weeks of award, mixing valves and thermometers delivery within 6 weeks of award, completed installation, and manufacturer documentation with warranty information. The place of performance is Gallup Indian Medical Center, 516 East Nizhoni Boulevard, Gallup, NM 87301, with a period of performance from date of award through 3 months.

Statement of Work (SOW)

Project Title: Mixing Valves and Thermometers.

Introduction:

This Statement of Work (SOW) outlines the tasks and deliverables to procure mixing valves and thermometers at Gallup Indian Medical Center (GIMC). The purpose of the valves and thermometers is to provide consistent and efficient distribution of hot and cold water, ensuring optimal temperature control for needs in critical areas of the hospital.

Background:

The current mixing valves and thermometers need to be replaced at GIMC Building 2000 to ensure optimal temperature controls at point of use. The mixing valves and thermometers will be assisting with water management operations. The lack of mixing valves and replacement of current mixing valves and thermometers have created minor issues for temperature inconsistencies that affect patient care and working conditions for staff. The hospital needs to replace and install new mixing valves and thermometers to enhance the distribution and efficiency of its domestic hot and cold-water system and ensure it meets operational requirements.

Objective:

The objective of this project is to provide a reliable and efficient mixing valve and thermometers that will:

- Enhance the cooling system capacity of the hospital.

- Ensure consistent temperature control in all critical areas.

- Support energy efficiency and sustainability goals.

- Reduce system downtime and operational disruptions.

Scope of Work:

GIMC will perform the following tasks:

Procurement:

Source and supply mixing valves and thermometers that meet the hospital's specifications and operational requirements.

Ensure the mixing valves and thermometers comply with relevant industry and environmental standards.

Installation:

GIMC Facility Management will install new mixing valves and thermometers including all necessary piping, connections, and system integration.

Testing:

Facility management personnel will:

• Check for leaks and bleed the piping for air.

• Will follow manufacturer requirements on testing.

Documentation:

Deliver detailed documentation, Manufactory installation, user manuals, and warranty information.

Requirements:

The GIMC Procurement will purchase:

• Mixing valves with the following specifications:

o Connection Type: NPT X NPT o Inlet connection size: ¾” o Outlet Connection size: 1” o Body Material: Cast Bronze o Overall Height: 7-1/4” o Overall Width: 11-3/8” o Flow Coefficient (Cv) 9.49 o Max Operating Pressure 125psi o Inlet cold Temperature range: 40°F to 80°F o Outlet Temperature range: 90°F to 160°F o Valve Type: Hot Water Master o Standards: ASSE1017; CSA B125 o Point-of-source mixing valves install at or near hot water sources such as boilers or water heaters in commercial and institutional buildings. They ensure constant outlet water temperature and typically have higher maximum temperature ratings than point-of-use valves.

• Thermometers with the following specifications:

o Accuracy +/-1% o Dial Diameter: 2” o Housing Material: Aluminum o Includes NIST-Traceable Certificate: No o Includes Thermowell: Yes o Lens Material: Glass o Manufacturer Warranty Length: 5 years o Minimum Temperature: 30ốF or 0ốC o Maximum Temperature: 250ốF or 120ốC o Temperature Units: Celsius, Fahrenheit o Mounting Location: Pipe o Stem Diameter: 0.35” o Stem Length: 1.6” o Stem Material: Brass o Thread Gender: Male o Thread Size: ½” o Thread Type: NPT o Lead-free dial thermometers and assemblies thread into pipes or tanks in potable water systems. Their thermowell is low-lead compliant and approved for use in drinking water.

Comply with all safety and environmental regulations.

Deliverables:

GIMC will deliver the following:

• Procurement Plan – Documentation of the specifications and procurement process, due within 2 weeks of contract award.

• Mixing Valves and Thermometers – Delivered to the hospital site within 6 weeks of contract award.

• Installation completed by GIMC Facility Management.

• Manual book and warranty.

Place of Performance:

Gallup Indian Medical Center 516 East Nizhoni Blvd. Gallup, NM 87301.

Period of Performance:

Date of award through 3 months
