About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the installation and setup of one Instron 1500HDX Universal Testing Machine at the West Point Cyber Engineering and Academic Center, Room 102. The equipment must be delivered and fully operational by August 31, 2026, with all work completed between July 1 and August 31, 2026. The contractor is responsible for rigging services including offloading, positioning, hose connections, electrical wiring, debris disposal, and potential installation of conduit or openings between the pump room (EC-102B) and High Bay (EC-102). The contractor must provide a transformer if power requirements exceed 460V three-phase for the pump or 120V single-phase for other components.
The Universal Testing Machine must have a load capacity of 337,500 lbf, 12-inch actuator stroke, maximum test speed of 4.5 inches per minute, and a 30-inch horizontal clear opening. Space constraints require the equipment to fit through a 7.5-foot by 11-foot door opening, with the hydraulic power unit confined to a 12-foot by 7.5-foot room and all other components fitting in a 20-foot by 7-foot space. The system includes hydraulic crosshead grips, fastener fixtures, 8-inch gage length extensometers, interlock safety enclosures, a Windows 10 Pro computer with 21.5-inch touchscreen monitor, and flexible test software capable of custom procedures and PDF/CSV data export. The contractor must provide on-site installation, calibration, commissioning, one day of operator training, operation and maintenance manuals, and a one-year warranty. All debris must be removed by the contractor.
