About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details the U.S. Coast Guard Aids to Navigation Team Charleston's requirement for specific Dor-Mor brand pyramid mooring anchors. The solicitation calls for 22 cast iron anchors in four different weight classes (70 lb, 135 lb, 200 lb, and 400 lb), with precise quantities for each size, totaling 6, 5, 8, and 3 anchors respectively. Each anchor type has a corresponding holding power ranging from 700 to 4,000 pounds, and the solicitation explicitly requires Dor-Mor brand anchors, with no equivalent alternatives authorized.
The procurement is a small business set-aside with a firm fixed-price purchase order contract type, using the Lowest Price Technically Acceptable evaluation method. Delivery is required within three weeks after award, with anchors to be shipped to the U.S. Coast Guard ANT Charleston at 196 Tradd St, Charleston, SC 29401. The delivery location will provide a forklift to assist with offloading. Vendors must submit quotes via email to SKC Adam Hitchcox by 5:00 PM EST on August 1st, 2025, with a detailed cost breakdown and Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) and Tax Identification Number (TIN).

STATEMENT OF WORK
1. Background:
U.S. Coast Guard Aids to Navigation Team Charleston, SC is responsible for maintaining buoys in the coastal waterways along the South Carolina coast.
Sinkers are needed to hold the buoys in place in precise geographical locations.
2. Requirements:
The Dor-Mor anchor is a cast iron, pyramid-shaped sinker. It is designed with a unique shape to efficiently penetrate the seabed, used in areas with mud or sand bottoms and provide strong holding power for mooring buoys. Dor-Mor anchors are available in sizes ranging from 15 pounds to 4,000 pounds. Because cast iron is much denser than concrete, these anchors have significantly more holding power than concrete sinkers of the same weight.
