About this file
This document is a Statement of Work for a 280mm inner diameter integrating sphere. NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center requires the sphere to transfer the spectral calibration of a NIST-traceable spectrometer. The key requirements are that the sphere have a 280mm inner diameter, 300mm outer diameter, four flat surfaces with threads for mounting, a 4-inch port with reducers, and additional 1-inch and 2-inch ports. The place of performance is between NIST and the Radiometric Calibration Lab at NASA, with a period of performance of 6 weeks from the award date. The anticipated delivery time is approximately 8 weeks after receipt of the Purchase Award.
The related federal contract opportunity is a pre-solicitation notice for a sole source procurement of the 280mm integrating sphere from Gigahertz-Optik, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). NASA intends to acquire the sphere as a commercial item, with the procurement conducted by the NASA Shared Services Center. Interested parties may submit capability statements by 9/19/2024 for the government's consideration in determining whether to conduct the procurement competitively.

STATEMENT of WORK/SPECIFICATIONS
Objective: Our requirement is for one 280mm (inner dimension) integrating sphere for use in transferring the spectral calibration of a NIST-traceable spectrometer to GSFC.
Background: We require a 280mm integrating sphere as a source for a new method of calibrating a spectrograph. The sphere will serve as a monochromatic source for a multi-wavelength laser system. The sphere will illuminate a NIST calibrated spectroradiometer and an uncalibrated spectroradiometer, enabling the transfer of the NIST calibration to the uncalibrated spectroradiometer.
Requirements: 280mm inner diameter, 300mm outer diameter 4x flat surfaces with ¼”-20 threads for mounting the sphere at four angles 4” port with cover, with port reducers down to 2” and 1” 2 1” ports near the north pole 8 2” ports around the application port
Deliverables:
Time of shipment approximately 8 weeks after receipt of Purchase Award.
Place of Performance:
All work will be conducted between NIST and the Radiometric Calibration Lab.
Period of Performance:
6 weeks from award date, estimated .
