About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for providing preventative maintenance and support services for a Thermco Systems furnace owned and operated by NASA-GSFC's Detector Development Lab. The SOW requires one 4-day onsite visit by the vendor to perform maintenance and knowledge transfer, with travel and accommodations included. The period of performance is 12 months from the date of award.
The related federal contract opportunity is a Pre-Solicitation for the Thermco Preventative Maintenance requirement. NASA-NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to Thermco Systems, the original equipment manufacturer, under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). The work will be performed at the NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center. NASA plans to acquire the services as commercial items using the procedures in FAR Parts 12 and 13. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities in writing by 7/2/2024 for the government's consideration of a competitive procurement. The NAICS code is 811210.

STATEMENT OF WORK
1. Objective/Requirements NASA-GSFC owns and operates a furnace from Thermco Systems. These are high precision tools used in fabrication of silicon devices that are processed in the Code 553 Detector Development Lab. These systems require maintenance and replacement of critical parts on a regular basis. These systems are an integral part of the Detector Development Laboratory, which produces semiconductor detectors for various NASA missions, such as ATHENA, NGMSA, FORTIS, and others. The equipment is critical for the production of semiconductor/MEMS devices, and maintenance is essential to keep these systems operational, and avoid unplanned breakdowns and down time. They are the original equipment manufacturer and is the only reliable option available to provide the needed preventative maintenance kit for this system.
2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs Provide 1 visit of 4 days each for onsite maintenance and support of knowledge transfer.
Travel and accommodations included provided by vendor.
3. Place of Performance
Detector Development Lab, Building 30, Goddard Space Flight Center
4. Period of Performance 12 months, beginning date of award.
