About this file

The provided document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for custom-designed surface mount filters to be used in the POLSIR IFA (Imaging Fourier Transform Spectrometer) Boxes. The key details are:

The filters must meet specific technical requirements, including S-parameter files over temperature, storage and operating temperature range, maximum RF power, and ability to withstand soldering profiles and vibration specifications. The filters are to be fabricated to space-flight standards for low-Earth orbit but not screened. The filters are to be delivered to NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) for further testing and integration.

The related federal contract opportunity is a pre-solicitation notice for a sole-source contract to Knowles Cazenovia Inc. under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), as NASA/GSFC has determined Knowles Cazenovia Inc. is the only vendor that can meet the stringent requirements. The procuring center will be the NASA Shared Services Center, and the NAICS code is 333413. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications by the specified deadline, but the government has sole discretion in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.

SPECIFICATIONS/GSFC - SOW – STATEMENT OF WORK FORM

PR #: 4200864247

Mohamed Abdin (NASA)

02/23/2024

SPECIFICATIONS/SOW :

• S-parameter files over temp required for each part.

• Storage/operating temp: <=-40°C to >=+60°C

• RF power Max =>+20dBm

• Parts fabricated to space-flight specs for Low-earth orbits but not screened.

• Parts meet or exceed specs outlined in Attached Document:

“Filter_Requirements_V20240109_send.pdf”

• Filters to withstand soldering profiles for R276 Solder Paste (Sn63Pb37). Temps between 275C- 310C (approx. 40s-1.5min).

• Parts fabricated to space-flight specs for Low-earth orbits but not screened.

• Filters to be designed to withstand vibration specifications outlined in GEVS spec of 14.1 Grms, using protoflight specification. Vibration testing will be completed once filters are fully assembled at GSFC by NASA and not by vendor. (See Table 2.2-2 and 2.4-3).
