SECTION C DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATIONS
STATEMENT OF WORK
TO PROVIDE
FOR
CARBON DIOXIDE CO2 SERVICES
BUREAU OF INDIAN AFFAIRS, HOPI AGENCY
A. INTRODUCTION
The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Hopi Agency, Keams Canyon, Arizona has a need for carbon dioxide gas service. Carbon dioxide gas is utilized to treat arsenic in the domestic water supply before it is processed through the water treatment plant filtering system, at Low Mountain Junction, which services the Keams Canyon Federal facility, Keams Canyon Elementary School, Bureau housing units, Hopi Law Enforcement facility and other public/community that are connected to the Bureau of Indian Affairs water system. This treatment is to bring the arsenic level under 10 parts per billion
(PPB) which is required by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Safe Drinking Water Act and to be in compliance with EPA rules and regulation, and to prevent from any EPA violations for non-compliance.
Delivery of carbon dioxide will be to the BIA Hopi Agency Water Treatment Plant (Pump House #87) located at the Low Mountain Junction at State Highway 264 and BIA Route 60 (Low Mountain
Junction), on the Hopi Reservation within the confines of Navajo County.
B. SCOPE OF WORK/SPECIFICATIONS
The CONTRACTOR shall provide carbon dioxide gas to Keams Canyon Water Treatment Plant per the following services:
a. 800 lbs. bulk CO2 to be used in two 400 lbs. VGL cylinders (per delivery)
b. Three (3) 75 lbs. carbon dioxide full cylinders to be used for backup if delivery is not on schedule. Estimated cost per filled cylinder:
c. Monthly Cylinder rental for 2 – 400 lbs. VGL cylinder each per month.
d. Cylinder Rental for 3 – 75 carbon dioxide cylinders each per delivery.
e. Delivery charge per trip
Total delivery cost for 15 deliveries
Normal delivery shall be once or twice a month, dependent on the usage. Hopi Agency Facility
Management will call the CONTRACTOR/Vendor and will provide 24 to 48 hours advance notice for requested delivery.
The CONTRACTOR shall deliver the carbon dioxide on the promised delivery schedule and must make every effort to stay within their schedule.
The CONTRACTOR will perform the delivery during Government working hours of 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays & weekends.
The CONTRACTOR will check in and check out with the Facility Management Office at telephone number

The CONTRACTOR will submit invoices and payments will be processed in accordance with Section G
Administrative Data.
