Statement of Work
3d printer US Army Aberdeen Test Center
Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD
Objective:
The objective of this purchase contract is to acquire a large format industrial 3d printer to prototype rapid response parts precisely and efficiently to produce components for acquisition testing. The 3d printer will afford rapid response to emerging technologies and reduce down time of acquisition testing. The 3d printer will support manufacturing, modifying, and maintaining acquisition systems.
Technical Requirements:
The 3d printer must possess the following features and specifications:
The offeror’s proposal must address, each of the following features and capabilities enumerated below and listed in the 3d printer Specifications table following. The proposal must address each by either stating the proposed system’s specification or by narrative description. Note that a blanket statement that the proposed solution meets the technical requirements listed in the solicitation is insufficient.
1) The 3d printer must have individually controlled heating elements.
2) The 3d printer must have a reusable and removable printer bed.
3) The 3d printer must have 3 liquid cooled extruders.
4) The 3d printer must be able to mitigate harmful VOCs through the use of a HEPA filter.
5) The 3d printer must have a heated, thermally stable build chamber.
6) The 3d printer must have a camera to monitor the active print that can be accessed via a web interface.
7) The 3d printer must be able to print non-proprietary materials.
8) The 3d printer must have a temperature and humidity controlled material management system that can feed directly into the printer and store materials.
9) The 3d printer must be capable of printing both soluble and insoluble support materials.
10) The 3d printer must be capable of printing abrasive materials through the use of hardened nozzles.
11) The 3d printer must have a LAN port
12) The 3d printer must have at least one dimension that is smaller than or equal to 34.5 inches to fit through a personnel doorway.
13) The 3d printer must be a fused filament fabrication style machine.
Some pertinent specifications the 3d printer should be able to meet or exceed are shown in the table below.
