About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details a contract for the 580th Software Engineering Squadron (SWES) to rebuild four (4) fiber optic cables for a communication processor test bench at Robins Air Force Base. The requirement is a build-to-print contract where the selected contractor must manufacture custom fiber optic cables according to specific technical drawings (U108223-10, U108223-30, U108223-50, U108223-70), with each cable having unique specifications outlined in the technical data package.
Key contract details include a 60-day delivery timeline after order receipt, FOB destination shipping, and delivery to SMXG/580th SWES at 280 Byron St., Bldg 229E, Robins AFB, GA. The solicitation (FA857925Q0016) is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures as a Request for Quote, with quotes due by Tuesday, 15 July 2025 at 4:00 pm EST. Vendors must email quotes to Jonathon VanBrunt, include their CAGE CODE, and provide a narrative demonstrating financial capability to complete the cable rebuild project. All produced units will become U.S. Government property upon contract completion.

Statement of Work (SOW)
For 580 Software Engineering Squadron (SWES)
12744 B77415 - Fiber Optic Cables
17 January 2025
1.0 GENERAL INFORMATION
Scope The 580th SWES maintains a fiber channel connected communication processor test bench at Robins Air Force Base. There is a requirement to rebuild the interconnecting cable sets inside this test bench, and the 580th needs a contractor to build the four (4) Fiber Optic Cables.
This Statement of Work (SOW) defines contractor tasks and requirements for management, manufacturing, and delivery of the Fiber Optic Cables. A technical data package with drawings and models for each cable has been developed and contains the individual specifications for each assembly. The objective of this effort is to award a single contract to build and produce the four (4) Fiber Optic Cables as directed in Sections 3 & 4 of this SOW.
Background The 580th SWES communication processor test bench has undergone a number of changes that has compromised the current fiber optic cables. The system is being rebuilt to support future workload and as such, length, wear points, and channel quantities have changed. The rebuild effort provides a good opportunity to update the Fiber Optic Cable set to a more reliable and versatile configuration.
