DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED EQUIPMENT ACQUISTION ACTION
This activity is associated with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service National Bicycle and Pedestrian Counting Program. This program is a joint project between the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) and the FHWA Office of Federal Lands Highway (FLH). The overall goal of this program is “To gather enhanced visitor movement information upon which FWS can make informed decisions on investments needed to expand and improve existing bicycle and pedestrian elements.”
The purpose of this action is for the acquisition by the Eastern Federal Lands Highway Division of the Federal Highway Administration of a group of 13 electronic bicycle/pedestrian counter units. These 13 bicycle/pedestrian counter units are to be installed at a group of eight (8) National Wildlife Refuge stations of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. The provision of these electronic counter units will be the responsibility of the selected vendor. The delivery of these electronic counter units to each of the defined national wildlife refuge sites will be the responsibility of the selected vendor. The installation and operation of these electronic counter units will be the responsibility of the staff of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) who are assigned to each of the designated national wildlife refuges.
The location of each of the eight (8) National Wildlife Refuge stations, and the number of counter units to be delivered to, and subsequently installed at, each refuge station, is presented on the table below:
