Statement of Work
Vendor is required to provide High performance, non-directional, and all season/weather tires suitable for law enforcement/high speed emergency use. Speed rating shall be no less than” V” with a traction grade of “AA” and have a temperature rating of “A”. Specifically recommended by the manufacturer for various types of law enforcement vehicles. Vehicles using speed rated tires are to include: Ford Interceptor –Sedan/SUV, Ford Crown Vic, Dodge Charger, Chevrolet Caprice, Chevrolet Impala and Chevrolet Tahoe. Other vehicles throughout the FLETC that will need tires according to manufacturer’s specifications are to include Ford F Series Trucks, Dodge Chargers, Chevrolet Volt, Chevrolet Impala, Chevrolet Van, Dodge Caravan/Pacifica, Ford E Series Van, and other various Gov’t Vehicles.
FLETC does have a name brand preference as it has historically used Goodyear, Firestone, and Michelin tires. Currently the FLETC has used primarily Goodyear tires and would like to continue maintaining tires consistent with what is being used in the law enforcement field. In order to succeed in real life training and maintaining consistency with law enforcement vehicles use in the field, it is preferred to continue having major manufacturer speed rated tires available. FLETC/GARAGE maintains a minimum stock of various sized tires, in effort to continue training without interruption, it is required that the awarded vendor be able to provide delivery of order in less than (30) days from purchase date. When administration and partner organizations vehicles are serviced by the FLETC GARAGE, tire requests may vary according to above mentioned vehicle types.
Contractor shall contact the POC 48 hours prior to delivery date. Deliveries shall be made during the hours of: Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 4:00PM, FLEET/Garage is closed for major federal holidays. When Delivery is made the tires need to be in order by types. Warranty and serial numbers are to be provided.
Inspection and Acceptance the Government has the right to refuse any tire not meeting the listed requirements. The contractor will be responsible for the replacement of any refused tire under warranty if a factory defect exists within 24 hours. The vendor shall provide a copy of the warranty of all procured tires. Warranty should be in writing and should include any conditions which may invalidate the warranty. Warranty should include procedures on how the agency can exercise warranty rights.
