STATEMENT OF WORK
1) BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Flow Cytometry Section (FCS) of the Research Technologies Branch provides the Division of Intramural Research (DIR) with application-specific flow cytometric technologies, including instrumentation and multi-color analysis. In addition, the FCS provides training, consultation, method development, and analysis for experiments involving flow cytometry. This mission is accomplished through the efforts of staff with extensive flow cytometry experience and with the use of twelve (12) flow cytometers. Major goals are to provide access to state-of-the-art technologies, to help design and run experiments, to facilitate data interpretation, and to provide results that are of consistent high quality. Modern Immunology research has seen an ever-increasing demand for identification of an ever-increasing number of cell surface and intracellular markers. This acquisition directly addresses this mission by providing flow cytometers operating at peak performance.
2) PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES OF THE ACQUISITION
The purpose of this acquisition is to provide a service agreement for twelve (12) cytometers that consist of the following: FACSAria II SORP (No Lasers) – serial #P90100001, FACSAria II Special (No Lasers) – serial #P0149, FACSAria II Special (No Lasers) – serial #P07900144, FACSymphony A3 – serial #H66093700002, High Throughput Sampler – serial #U30100395, FACS Flow Supply System – serial #N3492774734, FACSCanto II – serial #V96300351, High Throughput Sampler – serial #U00900579, FACSymphony A5 – serial #H79300001, FACSAria III-6 Laser System – serial #P28200155, FACSAria II SORP (No lasers) – serial #P0153, BD LSR II (Inc Blue), serial #H1122, LSR II Preconf-3 Laser System w/VIO – serial #H472000004, FACSymphony A5 – serial #R066096400118, FACS Slow Supply System – serial #N3492775770, High Throughput Sampler – serial #R647701000623, FACSAria Fusion 4 Laser System – serial #P656700000115, which includes thirty-three (33) lasers. These instruments are constantly in use daily and if it were put out of action due to lack of maintenance or mechanical failure the ability of the investigators in the DIR to conduct their research would be severely handicapped. It is for this reason that a Service Agreement is essential.
