About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details water sample analysis requirements for the Chippewa National Forest (CPF) in Minnesota, covering Beltrami, Itasca, and Cass Counties. The contractor will analyze approximately 220 water samples collected from 27 water systems between April and October annually, including total coliform bacteria testing and primary/secondary contaminant analysis. Key responsibilities include providing sterile sample bottles, delivering samples to a lab, conducting comprehensive water quality testing, generating monthly analysis reports, and immediately notifying forest officials of any positive bacterial samples.

The SOW specifies that the contractor must be state-certified in Minnesota, provide pre-paid return mailing labels, support overnight delivery, establish local sample drop-off locations in Cass Lake and Deer River areas, and submit monthly invoices through IPP.gov. The analysis will cover 17 primary contaminants (including metals like lead, mercury, and arsenic) and 12 secondary contaminants (such as aluminum, chloride, and pH), with reports to be emailed within 24 hours of completed analysis to designated forest service contacts including Richard Shores and Dave Johnson.
