STATEMENT OF WORK

I. GENERAL INFORMATION

A. Background. Geologists use electrical piezocone testing (CPT) data to determine the thickness and type of subsurface materials. The CPT equipment is mounted on a truck and pushes a rod into the ground that measures the frictional resistance and pore water pressure at 2.5 cm increments. These measurements are compared to laboratory standards to provide indication of the stratigraphic layers and thickness.

B. Scope. Contractor will bring CPTu equipment to site and collect CPTu data including cone friction, resistance, and pore pressure. Contractor will provide real time data during the work so locations can be adjusted accordingly.

II. WORK REQUIREMENTS

A. Technical Requirements.

1. CPT data collected along maximum of 100 foot sections, including friction, resistance, and pore water pressure at 5 cm increments in accordance with ASTM D-5778-12 (Standard Test Method for Electronic Friction Cone and Piezocone Penetration Testing of Soils).

2. Criteria for acceptance: Receipt of electronic copies of CPT data.

B. Deliverables.

1. Report summarizing processing steps.

2. Electronic copies of raw and translated data.

III. SUPPORTING INFORMATION

A. Place of Performance. Coachella, California.

B. Period of Performance: Estimated September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023

C. Government Furnished Property (GFP): None.
