Statement of Objective (SOO)/Technical Requirements

Package (TRP)

USAF CIL LYNX‐II Digital Signal Analyzer

7 May 2024

1. SOO for Equipment USAF CIL LYNX-II Digital Signal Analyzer

2. Purpose The purpose of this effort is to procure digital signal analyzers to be integrated with the USAF Radiochemistry Laboratory's (CIL) complete count room radiation detection/measurement. These Lynx-II digital signal analyzers will allow CIL to maintain its detector capability and mission readiness.

3. Scope USAF CIL requires three Lynx-II digital signal analyzers to maintain its detector capability.

4. Background The Lynx-II digital signal analyzer incorporates front-end signal conditioning, a fast digitizing analog-to-digital converter (ADC), programmable digital filters, digital oscilloscope, automatic pole/zero US Patent #7725281 and baseline restorer, digital fast discriminator, two groups of 32k channel spectral memory, digital stabilizer and a triple-range HVPS. It serves as an integrated signal analyzer to process detector signal inputs and produce spectra for further analysis. A digital signal analyzer is a required piece of equipment for all gamma detectors.

5. Period of Performance Commercial off the shelf equipment. No performance necessary other than preparation and shipment of equipment.

6. Operating Constraints

6.1 No wireless communication capabilities

- Due to the restrictions of wireless communications within the laboratory, the acquired device cannot have a wifi/Bluetooth/etc. signal.

6.2 No internet connectivity requirements

- The device must be stand-alone and not require internet connection.

System Requirements

ALL equipment must be compatible with the current measurement system which is controlled by Mirion hardware and software. Similar equipment produced by companies other than Mirion will not work with ANY equipment we currently have and cannot be used as an alternative.
