Develop eight individual projects inside the masterplan which will include but not be limited to (1) an outdoor exhibit (2) an exhibit hanging objects from the three story opening inside (3) an exhibit with large multimedia touch panel displays and the content for that exhibit (4) renovate and update an existing exhibit, (5) relocate, renovate, and update an existing exhibit (6) create a digital version of the heritage center with digital walkthroughs and information for posting online (7) develop a multimedia solution allowing for recording and broadcasting events from within the heritage center (8) Update and unify existing cases/cabinetry interior finishes and architectural treatments. Timing and sequencing should be included if the project requires other projects to be accomplished prior. These eight projects should be able to be removed from the masterplan in order to fund/fundraise for their execution and will include conceptual designs, drawings, and/or renderings, textual information, and a general budget to include any future updates to that specific project. The master plan will include a donor recognition system for how individual and corporate donors can be represented with inside and outside options that are unified with the entire space. Develop a logo and branding package for the heritage center with a uniform color pallet to be used for electronic and printed material.

Statement of Need

The AFCC Heritage Center serves as the only heritage center in the USAF dedicated to highlighting the artifacts and stories of the Cyberspace and Information Technology (C&IT) community. The heritage center requires a master plan to ensure future installations, exhibits, programs, are presented in a professional and holistic manner which conforms to common museum standards. The master plan will serve as a roadmap for the center for the next decade much as a city master plan guides the future development of the city.

The heritage center master plan will support Headquarters, Cyberspace Capabilities Center (HQ CCC) at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois who manages the heritage center on behalf of Air Combat Command. The master plan will not support any individuals, rather it will support the AFCC Heritage Center and the curator will use the document as a framework for future exhibit development. If the master plan is not purchased future exhibits will not be uniform, professional, or conform to museum standards and will not have budget targets to plan funding for or be able to be presented to 501 (c)3 private organizations and corporate donors.

Market research was conducted with Luci Creative (lucicreative.com), PGAV Destinations (pgavdestinations.com), and Taylor Studios (taylorstudios.com) to define the requirements, validate industry terminology, and gage timeline and cost estimates.
