About this file

This is a Statement of Need for nuclear medicine radiopharmaceuticals required by the Cheyenne VA Medical Center's Diagnostic Imaging (Radiology) department. The facility requires weekly delivery of various nuclear radiopharmaceuticals to support Nuclear Medicine examinations, including cardiac stress tests and other diagnostic imaging procedures. Due to the short half-life of radiopharmaceuticals, bulk storage is not feasible at the medical center; delivery quantities are determined by the types and numbers of exams ordered by physicians on a weekly basis.

The requirement encompasses 21 line items totaling specific quantities of various radiopharmaceutical products and related services. Key products include Xe-133 (208 vials of 20mCi), multiple Tc-99m based pharmaceuticals in both kit and prepared forms (including Sodium Pertechnetate, Mebrofenin, Medronate, Mertiatide, Sestamibi, Sulfur Colloid, and others with quantities ranging from 20 to 140 units), I-123 Capsules (90 units of 200uCi), and Co-57 sheet sources (2 units). The statement also includes 261 delivery charges and 2 survey meter calibrations. Security accreditation and A&A requirements do not apply to this procurement request in accordance with VA Handbook 6500.6 Appendix A.
