STATEMENT OF NEED (SON)

Project: Range Operations Vehicle Emergency Lights & Siren Equip & Install

1.0 Purpose: The Range Management Office is required by AFMAN 13-212v1 to respond to reports of Unexploded Ordinance (UXOs), medical emergencies and wildfires across the ~47k acre Range Complex. These are considered “emergency responses” due to the threat to life and/or limb and resources. This vehicle would require lights & siren similar to Fire and Police vehicles.

2.0 Scope or Mission: This project would include a full-size hide-away interior lightbar, grill lights, back window lights (w/ shrouds), lights over the wheel wells, a headlight flasher unit, brake light/back-up light flasher, 100watt siren with remote, speaker and all previously listed equipment would be protected by a 15-channel wiring harness w/ separate circuit breaker and timer control. All wiring would be 911 circuits or similar.

3.0 Period and Place of Performance: is in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Kirtland AFB.

6.0 Deliverables / Schedule:

o Installation to be scheduled & completed within 30 calendar days from award of contract.
