The training is an asynchronous, video-based lesson plan delivered over 2-5 weeks, designed to provide a no-math, no-code curriculum that empowers participants to use advanced AI tools, collaborate with technical teams, and make informed choices about AI strategy, risk management, and responsible use. The program will serve up to 625 students (500 from A2 and 125 from A3), with participants receiving access to podcast-style videos, a course textbook, knowledge checks, a final exam, and hands-on learning activities like prompt engineering. Successful completion will result in a Beginners Foundations of AI certification.
The training's foundational objectives include understanding AI fundamentals, exploring recent AI capability explosions, tracking future AI developments, analyzing threat mitigation options, examining emerging capabilities, discussing weaponization and accident risks, and avoiding dangerous assumptions about AI in plans and strategies. The contract includes a one-year base period with two optional twelve-month extension years. All coursework will be completed at the unclassified level, with initial participant sign-up coordinated through the government point of contact until a web-based tracking mechanism is implemented by the contractor at no additional cost.
