About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the FY27 Common Missile Compartment (CMC) contract supporting the integration of the D5LE Missile System into CMC for COLUMBIA Class and Dreadnought Class submarines. The SOW is organized into eight Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs) with performance spanning March 1, 2027 through February 28, 2032.

CLINs 0001 and 0002 establish US and UK program management and integration responsibilities, respectively, requiring the contractor to provide systems engineering support, shipyard installation test program (SITP) support, and comprehensive technical and program management for all missile system elements. CLIN 0003 and 0004 address Coordinated Shipboard Allowance Equipment (COSAL) procurement and delivery for US vessels (US04, US05, US06) and UK vessels (UK11), including ballast cores and cans. CLIN 0005 covers experimental vehicle operations including readiness tests for the VTV Missile System in US01, verification of system connectivity and performance prior to Government Sea Trials, performance monitoring during sea trials, and procurement of XPOD and VTV installation spares. CLIN 0006 requires production and delivery of Navy Experimental Surveillance Test (NEST) flight hardware. CLIN 0007 addresses UK experimental vehicle operations, specifically XPOD kit installation on UK09 missiles with Integration Readiness Review requirements. CLIN 0008 establishes DASO-1A operations and flight test analysis responsibilities including Flight Safety and Readiness Reviews. All CLINs require compliance with Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) standards per 10 U.S.C. 2446a and DOD instructions to ensure Government Purpose Rights to all technical data and intellectual property, and restrict contractor trademark assertions on designated government terms including SSP, TRIDENT, D5LE, and related designations.
