Acquisition Plan Action ID: 36C244-21-AP-4134

1. Contracting Activity: Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 04, Philadelphia VA Medical Center, 3900 Woodland Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19104. PR: 642-22-1-025-0001.

2. Brief Description of Supplies/ Services required and the intended use/Estimated Amount:

This is a Brand Name requirement for the Bio-Rad PhD Ix Indirect Fluorescent Antibody (IFA)/Enzyme Immunoassays (EIA) System and consumable Reagents to be located at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center. This equipment will be utilized in the Pathology and Laboratory Department to aid in the diagnosis of autoimmune and gastric disorders. This testing is streamlined by automated pipetting, dilutions, and microwell preparations.

3. Unique characteristics that limit availability to only one source, with the reason no other supplies or services can be used:

The Bio-Rad PhD Ix System is an EIA platform that performs testing for Anti-Mitochondrial Antibody (AMA), Anti-Nuclear Antibody (ANA), H. Pylori, as well as aid in preparing IFA slides for ANA and Anti-Smooth Muscle Antibodies (ASMAB). These tests are used for identifying different autoimmune diseases in our Veteran patients. There are no other tests that are compatible on the current platform. The testing kits are exclusive to the Bio-Rad System, and the Philadelphia VA Medical Center is currently using the Bio-Rad PhD Ix System and has completed the necessary validation period. This Government request is for the test kits, rental of the instrumentation, and service.

The Government s request is for a Base with Four Option Year.
