About this file
This document is a Limited Source/Brand Name Justification under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) for the procurement of Ansell Hyflex 74-045 "Polar Bear" cut resistant gloves by the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The justification states that the Hyflex gloves are a vital, ANSI Level 4 cut resistant product that allows FSIS inspectors the necessary dexterity and protection to palpate for signs of disease during the inspection process. FSIS has evaluated and approved the Hyflex gloves, and no other products have been found to meet the agency's functional requirements. The estimated price for the gloves is not provided. The justification indicates that several small business vendors resell the Ansell Hyflex gloves, which are the only recommended source.
The related federal contract opportunity is a Request for Quotes (RFQ) for the Hyflex 74-045 cut resistant gloves, solicitation number 123A9424Q0049, issued by the USDA FSIS.
