About this file
This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) from the Florida Department of Education, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. The state agency intends to purchase Rehabilitative Home Modification Service for Bathroom Modification and Access Ramp Installation from a single source provider, Patrick A. Burke, Inc. The services are required for a two-month term and include single-family home remodeling, addition, and repair services. The estimated dollar amount is $60,000.00. The agency has conducted two unsuccessful formal procurements to find a qualified contractor to provide these critical services within the designated geographic area. As a result, the agency has determined that Patrick A. Burke, Inc. is the sole-source provider for these specialized services.
The justification for the single-source acquisition is that the Rehabilitation Engineering Home Modification process is specific to the identified needs of the agency's vocational rehabilitation customers. All contractors must undergo a full background screening to become approved providers. Due to the limited contractor resources available in the designated geographic area, the agency has been unable to identify any other qualified vendors to perform these necessary services.
