About this file
This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) issued by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). FDLE is seeking DNA Testing Services, Evaluations & Research to identify missing and unidentified persons across the state. The services will include DNA extract evaluations, DNA sequencing, and genetic genealogy research support as part of FDLE's BJA Missing and Unidentified Human Remains Program. The contract term is from 7/10/23 to 6/30/25. FDLE has identified Othram, Inc., a vendor located in The Woodlands, Texas, as the sole source for the required Forensic-Grade Genome Sequencing technology and genetic genealogy research capabilities to handle the expected highly degraded and contaminated bone samples.
The estimated dollar amount for this single source procurement is $450,000. FDLE has determined that the required services are only available from Othram, Inc., and will provide the statutorily required notice of its intended decision to enter into a single-source purchase contract.
