About this file
This document describes a single source procurement by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) for Forensic Camera Systems with Full Spectrum Imaging Systems (FSIS). FDLE is seeking to purchase 5 forensic camera systems to be used by its criminal laboratory analysts to view and capture latent prints and other types of evidence. The intended single source vendor is Arrowhead Forensics, located in Lenexa, Kansas, as their FSIS is the only system with the required capabilities, including custom software, an integrated arm with hydraulics, and a high-resolution iMac computer. The posting is statutorily required to be open for at least 15 business days, with the last day for receipt of information being May 19, 2023. The estimated dollar amount for the procurement is $300,000.
The justification for the single source procurement is that the Arrowhead Forensics FSIS is the only product that meets FDLE's specific requirements for viewing and capturing evidence on 3D, textured, and round surfaces. Arrowhead Scientific, Inc. is the sole manufacturer and distributor of the Arrowhead Forensics FSIS. This procurement is being conducted by FDLE to support its mission of promoting public safety and strengthening domestic security in partnership with local, state, and federal criminal justice agencies.
