STATEMENT OF NEED (SON)

SS-75N91024Q00116 1

1.0 TITLE

Procurement of One (1) Brand Name or Equal BD High Throughput Sampler for government-owned BD LSRFortessa (Serial# R647117700197)

2.0 BACKGROUND

The Lymphoid Malignancies Branch (LyMB), Center for Cancer Research (CCR), National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH) uses a government-owned BD LSRFortessa Flow Cytometer (Serial# R647117700197) extensively in support of ongoing cancer research at LyMB, particularly to investigate the pathogenesis of lymphoid malignancies and to identify therapeutic vulnerabilities in B-cell lymphoma.

The government-owned BD LSRFortessa Flow Cytometer (Serial# R647117700197) only has single tube loading capability. The LyMB would like to expand these flow cytometer’s capacity by adding a High Throughput Sampler (HTS) unit on this system. With the HTS, samples loaded via single tubes are combined in 96-well (or 384-well) plates, and the HTS unit then automatically delivers samples to the flow cytometer. Sample processing in well-plates is more efficient and improves analytical performance.

To meet this increased demand, LyMB seeks a High Throughput Sampler that is compatible with its existing BD LSRFortessa Flow Cytometer. Therefore, LyMB requires one (1) Brand Name or Equal BD High Throughput Sampler.
