About this file

This is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) filed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) for surveillance and alarm maintenance or monitoring services. The procurement seeks system maintenance and monitoring services for multiple FDACS facilities throughout Florida, including the Conner Complex buildings and facility gate in Tallahassee, Florida Forest Service locations at Tallahassee Forestry Center Headquarters and Tates Hell in Carrabelle, the Shellfish Center Facility in Apalachicola, miscellaneous department facilities statewide, and any additional sites added during the fiscal year. The contract term runs from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The last day for prospective vendors to submit information regarding their capability to provide these services is June 19, 2026, which represents the statutorily mandated fifteen business day advertisement period.

The approximate contract amount is $94,000.00, with an estimated amount up to $120,000.00. Sonitrol of Tallahassee, Inc. is identified as the intended single source vendor. The justification for single source acquisition is that Sonitrol of Tallahassee, Inc. is the original installer of security equipment at all aforementioned facilities and is the only known source capable of providing additional equipment, monitoring, and maintenance for these systems. The FDACS notes that other security system providers cannot work with the manufacturer's equipment or integrate their systems with existing Sonitrol installations, and that changing vendors would require new equipment installation and create significant operational and financial impacts across all business areas and locations.
